A strong mission moment connects a family’s need with the support provided and the difference it made in daily life. Brief, specific details help us communicate the value of New Jersey’s AT/HVM services clearly.

Describe the need

Introduce the child or family and explain the obstacle, safety concern, access issue or daily challenge they were facing.

Explain the support

Share the assistive technology, home modification or vehicle modification provided through the AT/HVM program.

Show the impact

Meet Quinn: Greater independence at home

The need
Quinn is a 12-year-old living with Kleefstra Syndrome whose family needed safer, more accessible ways for her to move through and enjoy their home.
How FRN helped
Family Resource Network’s Home and Vehicle Modifications program helped provide a stair lift and pool lift designed around Quinn’s needs.
The impact
The new equipment supports greater independence and gives Quinn more opportunities to participate in the moments she enjoys with her family.

Meet Arizona: A new path from sand to surf

The need
Standard mobility equipment could not carry Arizona safely across the sand, limiting her access to the shoreline and beach activities.
How FRN helped
Through the New Jersey DCF Children’s System of Care and FRN’s AT/HVM program, Arizona received an accessible beach wheelchair.
The impact
Arizona can now move across the sand, reach the water and take part more fully in time at the beach with family and friends.
