Self-Hired Respite

Self-Hired Respite

Self-Hired Respite gives caregivers the short-term relief they need to rest and recharge.
This program offers financial reimbursement for up to 90 hours of respite care every 90 days, with the flexibility to use those hours as needed throughout each authorization period. Families have the freedom to choose their own respite worker—someone they trust to provide quality care. A family member may serve as the respite worker, as long as they are not the youth’s primary caregiver. With Self-Hired Respite, families stay in control of their child’s care while receiving the support they need to take a well-deserved break.
