Seize the Wave Family Beach Day brings individuals and families living with epilepsy together for an afternoon of fun, connection and support at the beach. The event is made possible through a collaboration between Epilepsy Services of New Jersey (ESNJ) and Paul’s Purple Warriors (PPW).
This year’s event will take place on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 11:30am to 3pm at 29th Street Beach in Sea Isle City. While surfing will not be part of this year’s program, families can still look forward to a full day by the ocean with music, family-friendly games and activities, complimentary food and refreshments, epilepsy education and resources, and opportunities to connect with others in the epilepsy community.
Registration is free for individuals and families living with epilepsy. Seize the Wave Family Beach Day offers a welcoming space to relax, spend time together and celebrate the friendships and support that make this community so special.

Seize the Wave is a unique surf instruction event made possible through collaboration between Epilepsy Services of New Jersey (ESNJ) and Paul’s Purple Warriors (PPW). Individuals and families living with epilepsy are provided an opportunity to experience the joy of surfing at the beach in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This event will provide 40 registered attendees living with epilepsy with the unique opportunity to participate in instructional surf lessons, thanks to our generous partners at Heritage Surf Shop and Tass Home Remodeling.
The experience begins on the beach, where participants will receive hands-on instruction before heading into the ocean with a trained surfer. Registration is FREE for individuals and families living with epilepsy, allowing them to enjoy a day filled with food, fun, and the unforgettable thrill of riding the waves!
To promote epilepsy education, safety, and awareness, and to provide financial assistance to the families of children with epilepsy.
PPW has successfully passed New Jersey legislation, Paul’s Law for Seizure Safe Schools to create a safer environment not only for the students, but school personnel as well.
