Supporting caregivers through relief, rest, and reassurance.
Respite Supports provides one-to-one assistance designed to offer temporary relief for family caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While caregivers take time to rest and recharge, participants continue receiving compassionate, high-quality care that promotes safety, engagement, and community inclusion.

Eligibility:

Youth ages 3-20 residing in Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, and Union counties

Service Location:

Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, and Union counties

What the Program Offers

  • Short-term, one-to-one care for individuals with disabilities
  • Services provided in the participant’s home, a Department of Human Services (DHS) -licensed group home, or another approved community setting
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate each family’s needs
  • Reliable support that prioritizes continuity of care and peace of mind for caregivers

Who Can Participate

  • Individuals enrolled in the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Supports Program or Community Care Program
  • Available throughout Camden, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, and Union counties

Who Provides Care

  • Experienced and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) trained by the Family Resource Network
  • DSPs are matched based on the participant’s individual needs and goals to ensure personalized, consistent care
