Respite Getaways

A weekend away for participants. A well-earned break for caregivers.
Respite Getaways provide weekend-long respite care at a local hotel for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants enjoy fun, community-based activities while caregivers take time to rest and recharge.

Adults enrolled in DDD (21+)

What the Program Offers

  • Weekend hotel stays with social and recreational activities
  • Opportunities for friendship, community engagement, and relaxation
  • 2:1 participant-to-staff support ratio (1:1 available if family provides staff)
  • Small group format (max 10 participants per weekend)
  • Activities may include dining out, entertainment, local attractions

Who Can Participate

  • Adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Must have 120 Units of Respite and 2 Units of Overnight Respite in ISP
  • New participants complete service application and intake interview

How It Works

  • Funded through DDD Supports Program and participant ISP
  • Fees apply for out-of-pocket activities
  • Confirmation required before each scheduled weekend

Why Respite Getaways

Respite Getaways offer participants an enriching weekend away from home, while giving caregivers a much-needed break. It’s a chance for adults with disabilities to enjoy new experiences, build friendships, and have fun in a supportive environment.
