Out N’ About

Building friendships, fostering independence, and bringing communities together.
Out N’ About (ONA) is a community inclusion program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through ONA, participants explore new environments, build meaningful relationships, and engage with the world around them. Each activity is designed to promote connection, confidence, and community participation.

Eligibility :

Adults enrolled in DDD (21+), self pay may support individuals under age 21 as appropriate

Service Location:

Union, Morris, Essex, Camden/Gloucester

What the Program Offers

  • A wide range of recreational and educational outings throughout the year
  • Opportunities to develop new interests and social connections
  • Events held at locations across Essex, Morris, and Union counties
  • 3 scheduled events per month, 4–5 hours per event
  • Activity fees range from free to $50 per event (covers admission, tickets, rentals)

Who Can Participate

  • Adults ages 21 and older with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Open to residents of all 21 counties in New Jersey

How It Works

  • Billed through DDD as Community Inclusion services
  • Self-pay options are also available
  • Participant-to-staff ratio: maximum 6:1
  • Registration opens the 1st of each month and closes on the 20th
