FRN’s Support Services provide individuals with disabilities and families of children with disabilities to get the support they need to lead a full and happy life.
FRN’s employment and transition programs support youth and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities through mentorship, education, and employment in order to become integrated, productive members of their communities.
FRN’s public health department aims to address the social determinants of health that impact individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and chronic conditions.
The Family Resource Network provides engaging educational opportunities for professionals, families, and individuals across New Jersey. Our programs are offered both virtually and in person and cover a wide range of topics, including epilepsy, autism, caregiving, transition planning, and IEP development.
Finding the right job can open the door to new experiences, stronger connections, and a greater sense of independence. But getting there often starts with having someone who understands your goals and sees your potential.
As an Employment Specialist at Family Resource Network, Bryce Houck works alongside individuals with disabilities as they explore career opportunities and take steps toward employment. He understands that every person`s path looks different, and that the right support can help turn career aspirations into real opportunities.
This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Bryce’s commitment to helping individuals move forward in their employment journeys and the difference he makes through his work at FRN.

When Sal first joined FRN’s EmployAbility program, he wasn`t sure what he was capable of. He loved technology and gaming and had even built his own computer, but hadn`t had the opportunity to gain meaningful workplace experience.
Through small-group training and paid work experience at JY Computer Services, Sal had the opportunity to develop workplace skills, take on new responsibilities, and learn what it means to be part of a professional environment. He also explored hardware and device repair, gaining experience related to his interest in gaming technology.
But some of his most meaningful progress went beyond the skills he learned. Sal also began to see what he could bring to the workplace. He became more comfortable communicating and recognizing his own strengths. For someone who once struggled to picture himself at work, that growing belief in his abilities was an important step forward.
During National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), Sal’s story is a reminder that meaningful employment opportunities can do more than prepare someone for a job. They can change how someone sees themselves and what they believe is possible while helping them pursue career goals that matter to them.
