Young Professionals Teed Up for Networking and Advocacy 🏌️♀️ 🏌️♂️
Epilepsy Services of New Jersey brought together members of the Junior Professional Advisory Council (JPAC) and other young professionals living with epilepsy for a networking mixer at Top Golf in Edison. It was a day full of connection, conversation, and community as young leaders expanded their networks, raised awareness about epilepsy, and continued advocating for disability rights.
JPAC is a group of young adults dedicated to supporting the Family Resource Network`s mission. The council plays an important role in helping FRN grow its capacity to increase civic engagement among young adults through volunteerism and leadership.
This event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Auxiliary Service Inc., whose commitment to developing young professionals helps fuel opportunities like this. We are grateful for their partnership.

As Epilepsy Awareness Month winds down, we are proud to highlight the role education plays in creating safer spaces for everyone living with epilepsy.
Along with our on-demand online courses, we are committed to bringing Seizure Recognition and Response Training directly into communities through in-person sessions.
In November alone, our team visited colleges, schools, workplaces, and community groups, training individuals from all backgrounds. School nurses, mental health professionals, parents, caregivers, and friends all came together with one shared goal: making seizure safety second nature.
We teach using the TRUST method for seizure first aid:
T – Turn the person on their side to keep their airway clear
R – Remove any nearby objects that could cause injury
U – Use something soft under their head for protection
S – Stay calm and stay with them until the seizure ends
T – Time the seizure and call for help if it lasts longer than 5 minutes
This simple acronym empowers anyone to respond safely and confidently.
Help us reach our goal of 200,000 people trained in seizure recognition and response. Together, we can build safer, stronger communities for everyone affected by epilepsy.
