The Ocean County Caregivers Coalition (OCCC), an initiative facilitated by Caregivers of NJ (CNJ), held its Annual Family Caregivers Appreciation Day Event on Wednesday, September 25th at the Marquee Movie Theater in Toms River. The free event featured exhibitors, short film screenings, health screenings, massage therapy, raffle prizes, adult daycare respite and lunch. This year’s sponsors included Marquee Movie Theater, Saladworks of Toms River, and Regency Adult Daycare Center. Film screenings made possible by Sam Spencer, a film editor from Rutgers University, and Steve Besserman, founder of AriJoe Productions. The annual event is geared to support and advocate for countywide caregivers in the aging, disability, mental health and chronic illness communities.

Special guest included a representative from Congressman Andy Kim’s Office, presenting a Certificate of Congressional Recognition to CNJ in appreciation for the support, education, and resources provided to caregivers to enhance their lives and to ease their caregiving journeys.
