Director of Resource Development

The Family Resource Network is a statewide agency devoted to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We are currently seeking candidates for a full time Director of Resource Development opportunity located in our Trenton, New Jersey Office. The Director of Resource Development will be responsible for the creation and execution of The Family Resource Network’s resource development strategy.

Essential Functions include:

  • Develop, implement and monitor FRN’s development plan to support the agency’s strategic plan of action and meet fundraising goals;
  • Oversee fundraising and awareness events for the agency while maintaining budgets;
  • Serve as a key member of the Marketing Team; overseeing the development of event related marketing materials and ensuring proper publicity at events;
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and potential donors i.e.: individual, corporate and private foundations;
  • Grow Major Gift program by identifying prospects and developing campaigns to increase and retain donors;
  • Manage donor database, annual appeal, including direct mail and membership;
  • Serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors;
  • Manage staff, interns and volunteers;

Qualifications/ Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • 3-5 years experience in non-profit, Resource Development;
  • 1-3 years leadership experience; ability to motivate others;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive rapport with others at all professional levels;
  • Successful track record of identifying and cultivating individual/corporate donors for major gifts
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with donor database programs
  • Must be willing to travel statewide. Travel 15-20%

Board Certified Behavioral Analyst

The Family Resource Network is a statewide agency devoted to helping individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We are currently seeking candidates for a full time Board Certified Behavioral Analyst opportunity located in our Brick, New Jersey Office.

Essential Functions include:

  • Provide Behavioral Support Services to our consumers, consisting of specialized interventions that assist an individual in increasing adaptive behaviors;
  • Conduct 1:1 observations and interactions with individuals (adults and children);
  • Train childcare center staff to assist young children function successfully in a traditional childcare setting;
  • Utilize best practices within a community based setting to assist, train and supervise individuals with developmental disabilities in the activities of daily living and socialization skills;
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments, Support Plans and train staff on the implementation of plans;
  • Prepares progress reports for consumer’s immediate support group.

Qualifications/ Background:

  • Master’s Degree in behavioral analysis, psychology or related field;
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with adults and children with autism spectrum disorder and other intellectual and developmental disabilities ;
  • BCBA certification;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and use common sense;
  • Understanding and commitment to community based support for persons with disabilities;
  • Flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels, both internally and externally;
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form;
  • Must be willing to travel statewide. Travel 15-20%

Support Coordinators- Caregivers of New Jersey- North and Central

Caregivers of New Jersey is an affiliate of The Family Resource Network. We are a statewide agency devoted to helping individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities and their families. We are currently seeking Support Coordinator candidates for our team. The Support Coordinator helps individuals with disabilities and their families to identify and link with needed services and supports to improve their quality of life within the home and the community.

Essential Functions include:

  • Develops individual plans of care, with input from the individual and family, which is based on the personal preferences and choices of the individuals being served
  • Utilizes available specialized and generic community resources in combination with other formal and informal supports and services
  • Maintains continuing contact with individuals and families as individual plans of care are put in place
  • Assist individuals and their families in coordinating, selecting and overseeing their own supports
  • Works as part of a regional support team
  • Continues learning about relevant, local accessible services and providers
  • Informs providers and the Division about identified service gaps
  • Completes required trainings and attends meetings as assigned
  • Willing to travel and/or drive throughout the State of NJ and possibly neighboring State borders.

Qualifications/ Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Computer Proficient (MS Office)
  • Excellent Organization and Communication skills
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Balance of work in the field and office- Must have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our consumers

Human Resources Generalist

The Family Resource Network is a statewide agency devoted to helping individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities and their families. We are currently seeking candidates for our Human Resources Generalist opportunity in our Administrative Office in the Trenton, New Jersey Area.

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for full service Human Resources Support to about 150 employees statewide. Responsibilities include: Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Policy creation and updates, Recruitment, Performance Management, and Legal Compliance as it pertains to Human Resources.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 3-5 years Generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in as it pertains to the State of New Jersey.
  • Ability to form positive relationships with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
  • Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Get FIT Contracted Trainer

The Family Resource Network is contracting Traveling Personal Trainers to provide Get FIT exercise instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking motivated, responsible and creative staff statewide who can provide this interactive, lifestyle change program in the homes of consumers, local community sites and gyms. Get FIT trainers travel to the home’s and communities of Get FIT clients on a weekly basis to provide tailored in-home exercise training for people of all ages with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The Family Resource Network will provide training as needed to all Get FIT training staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology or Related Field or an Accredited Certification as a Personal Trainer, CPR Certified is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Get FIT Contracted Nutritionist

The Family Resource Network is contracting Traveling Nutritionists to provide Get FIT Nutrition Counseling to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking motivated, responsible and creative staff statewide who can provide this interactive, lifestyle change program in the homes of consumers and local community sites. Get FIT nutritionists travel to the home’s and communities of Get FIT clients on a weekly basis to provide tailored in-home nutrition counseling for people of all ages with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The Family Resource Network will provide training as needed to all Get FIT staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered dietician, or Bachelors degree is Nutrition or Related Field or an Accredited Certification as a Nutritionist, CPR Certified is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Direct Support Professionals (Full and Part-time)

The Family Resource Network is looking for full and part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) throughout the state of New Jersey.

In order to build a workforce ready for families in need, we would like to build a team of DSPs that can be assigned to a consumer right away and then transition a permanent DSP in the home over time. We will pilot a program through March 31, 2014 of Full Time Direct Support Professionals aimed to enhance services to our families. We plan to hire up to two DSPs in each of the Northern, Central and Southern regions.
