Camp NOVA

An unforgettable summer experience for individuals with epilepsy and developmental disabilities.

Camp NOVA is a week-long overnight camp where youth and adults with epilepsy and other developmental disabilities enjoy a traditional summer camp experience in a safe, supportive environment. From outdoor adventure to arts and recreation, campers make lasting memories, build friendships, and develop confidence.

Individuals with Epilepsy and/or IDD (ages 14+)

What the Program Offers

  • 7-day, 6-night overnight camp at Camp Linwood MacDonald in Sussex County
  • Full range of activities including swimming, ziplining, canoeing, ropes courses, archery, arts & crafts, game nights, campfires, and more
  • Individual and group activities designed to promote independence, teamwork, and self-esteem
  • Supportive environment staffed by trained counselors

Who Can Participate

  • Youth and adults with epilepsy and/or developmental disabilities
  • Open to residents throughout New Jersey
  • Funded through DCF and DDD; other payment options may be available

How It Works

  • Overnight camp held annually in July
  • Referrals accepted from DCF and DDD
  • Participants complete service application and intake process prior to camp
  • Participant-to-staff ratios structured to ensure safety and individualized support
