Celebrating 30 Years of Camp Nova

“Camp is a very fond childhood memory for many of us and we wanted to ensure that the families we serve have an opportunity to access that same experience.”

– Veronica Trathen, Director of Camp NOVA

In 1988, Epilepsy Services of New Jersey (formerly The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey) launched Camp NOVA! For 30 years, Camp NOVA has provided an exciting and independent camping experience in an environment filled with fun experiences and memories that last a lifetime.

Camp NOVA’s goal has always been to create a wonderful opportunity for children and young adults living with epilepsy and other developmental disabilities to enjoy summer camp. Each summer, campers enjoy a week of traditional camp activities such as, swimming in the lake, boating, fishing, zip lining, arts and crafts, yoga, dancing, acting, and of course s’mores at the evening campfire.
