Webinar: Neuropsychological Evaluations: Assessment to Guide Treatment for Individuals with Autism and Epilepsy
Apr 3 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Neuropsychologists play a critical role in characterizing the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning of individuals with developmental concerns. This is particularly important for individuals who present with unique “dual diagnosis” profiles such as those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and epilepsy. But what does the data generated from such an evaluation mean and how can it be used as a tool for making treatment decisions? This workshop will focus on providing an overview of what a neuropsychological evaluation entails and the value this type of assessment can have for individuals with autism and epilepsy. In addition, emphasis will be placed on how this information can be used to inform non-pharmacological treatment recommendations to optimize academic, social, and adaptive functions.

This session is being presented by:
Hilary Murphy, Ph.D.

This webinar is being offered free of charge.

Webinar: What does epilepsy have to do with Autism?
Jun 6 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Epilepsy can occur in up to 40% of individuals with Autism, and even more have abnormal electroencephalograms (EEG). With this compelling connection, parents and caregivers might be curious to know if their child with Autism has Epilepsy and what to do about it. Epilepsy can complicate the care and management of individuals with Autism, but also provides insight into the biological causes and contributions to Autism and associated problem behaviors. This Webinar will examine the relationship between Autism and Epilepsy, including its signs and symptoms, the importance of early detection, how Epilepsy can provide insight into the manifestations of Autism, treatment options, and outcomes. This presentation will provide important information for parents, caregivers and professionals working with children and adults with Autism.
